Been going to Havana Sandwich Shop for decades, my experiences are the opposite of yours.
I am Cuban born and raised in the US. My exposure to Cuban food was from family and restaurants in Dade County Florida (Miami), most notably, Versais on SW 8th St. The food at this establishment is authentic and it is delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and encountered friendly and polite service.
Authentic and cute shop. Super fast service. Delish sandwiches
Best black bean soup and yellow rice. Killer combo! And the bread!
Absolutely the BEST! Thank you Debbie and staff. From the food, cleanliness of the restaurant and the customer service EVERYTHING was AMAZING!
Found this place upon looking for empanadas. We tried the empanadas, papa rellena, croquettes, rice and beans, and rice pudding. The croquettes were heavenly and much better than the other local restaurant we tried a week ago. All of it was delicious really! And the service was nice. Please give this place a try and support this small business!
I coulda cried eatin' that Cuban with rice/beans - took me right back to my childhood!!! Period
Basic, super clean shop with REALLY GOOD food! I would say "hidden gem" but with all the awards on the wall, it's clearly not a secret. Order at the counter and pick it up when they call your number. Best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. Tasted the black beans a friend ordered.. absolutely delicious, and I'm NOT a fan of black beans.
Very authentic Cuban food. Each person's meal was both delicious and plentiful!
Consistently fantastic. Love love love this place.
Good value for the quality & quantity of food. For lunch, arrive before noon to beat the rush.
One of my favorites in Atlanta. You can have the hipster places. I love dives like this with great food. Also Brandi's Hot Dogs in Marietta. At Havana, I always get the half sammy with rice and beans. The one lady has been working here forever.
Authentic Cuban eats at a great price.
Incredible sandwich. Bread is just right. Great coffee shop.
Amazing food! I remember coming here with my dad when I was a kid. They have moved locations and I am happy to see that they are back where they originally were. Great staff and super yummy food! My go do is the cuban with yellow rice and their bean soup. I love mixing the rice and soup together and covering my cuban with the mole sauce! Mmmm I'm hungry after writing this review!
Let me start by saying that I used to adore the Havana sandwich shop. Before the fire and move, it was a favorite spot. Even went to eat at the new spot down the road. I finally went in for some takeout since they moved back to their original location. I was very very disappointed. The bread was not pressed and the sandwich was a soggy mess by the time I got home (a short ride), and lacked flavor. The black beans and rice were ok. The rice pudding was very good. Add to this some really bad parking and I don't feel the need to go back. Seriously bummed.
Got a Cuban sandwich and an empanada. Both good and the price is great! There’s plenty of parking behind the building.
I ordered the steak sandwich and really was hoping for the original like the ones in Miami but no 😔 they put lettuce and tomatoes which should not belong on the pan con bistec. But once I took it out the flavor of the sandwich was amazing! I will be back!
Always great. My favorite is the cheese, chicken & jalapeño empanada
If you're looking for authentic Cuban food, look no longer! This place has been around for almost 50 years, which really says a lot about their quality of food. The prices are very reasonable, you'll spend no more than $8-10 for all of the sandwiches and lunch is $9.95 which includes rice & beans. Make sure to try the sauce on the table, I have no idea what it is but it is amazeballs!
WOW what a great little place. . I rarely give 5 stars. Always great hot and fresh food made fast to be enjoyed slowly. The flavors are authentic. People are very nice. Great atmosphere. The food is extremely good. Rice and black beans are also phenomenal. Probably the best Cuban sandwich I have had in Atlanta. Reasonably priced too, and the staff was friend and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
I have ordered Cuban sandwiches from here several times on Door Dash. Today, I had to get up and see where these delicious sandwiches are coming from. The staff is so welcoming and nice. & the coffee is soo good!
Food is great, prices are even better! I have had multiple meals here. I am a biiiig cuban cheese toast girl and the fact that they put garlic on their toast, WOW - total game changer. One thing that may surprise you...if you're thinking your sides will be rice and black beans think again. We had yellow rice and a tomato sauce. Good, but not quite what I had been anticipating.
Pretty good! Huge portions and excellent service.
I had the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had in Atlanta at this small, family run restaurant. The sandwich was huge and tasted very fresh. The bread was nice and crusty. The yellow rice was delicious, too. You order at the counter and they call your number. The line was crazy long by noon and all the tables filled. People from all walks of life there. Very popular eating spot. Be aware, it is LOUD in there when its busy, making conversation at your table difficult. But the Cuban sandwich is worth the visit!
World's best Cuban sandwiches period. The yucca is so light and tasty, the sandwiches are FULL of so many meats, vegetables, and goodies, and I swear the green sauce they serve has crack in it, as it is one of the best sauces I have ever had the priviledge of tasting.
Fantastic Authentic Cuban Food!! Love the Cuban sandwich and a Cafe con Latte.
A very authentic Cuban sandwich shop located in the heart of Little Mexico just north of Buckhead.
Cafeteria style eatery with Cuban sandwiches and empanadas. Sides of beans are extra. Had the Cuban sandwich which was a bit too salty for me. The empanada I had was chicken, jalapeno and cheese - it was good. At $3 an empanada, it is a good deal.
This place is AH-MAZING! Their Cuban is my personal favorite but everything on the menu is delicious. They are super busy any time I've been in but the service is quick and the food is well worth the wait!
2nd time this week and was not disappointed. The food is GREAT and service is fast. As busy as they are they are clean and the service friendly
The food and service is always good. They have relocated but still serving great food. I always bring friends and family to eat here.
It is a small busy place, but when you get there you will understand why. It was so fulfilling!!!
Probably the best Cuban sandwich I have had in Atlanta. Reasonably priced too, and the staff was friend and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
Delicious Cuban food. Friendly place. Relaxing atmosphere. Quick service during lunch
Absolutely fantastic local shop with friendly staff and delicious Cuban food. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a quick lunch with plenty of Latin flavor.
The ropa vieja and sweet plantains are so good
Nice people but the food was bland not seasoned like Little Havana Restaurant in Miami. The plantains were good though.
I flew in for a conference and I was driving around looking for something to eat. As I was driving down the street I saw the sign that said Havana sandwich shop so I pulled in and give it a try. This was the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had and frankly I'm not sure there's a better Cuban sandwich in Cuba!I travel to South Florida a couple of times a year and I always like to find different sandwiches shops looking for that perfect Cuban. This joint has blown every other Cuban sandwich experience away. This sandwich is even heads and shoulders above the very famous Versailles. This sandwich is so impressive that I'm flying out on Saturday and I'm going to order one and take it back to my wife. This sandwich is so good that I would fly back down to Atlanta just so I could get another one. It was simply amazing, and I'm so happy that I stopped and gave it a chance.
As a Cuban American I can say this food is 100% authentic and delicious! The family who owns this place is incredibly nice and every time I go the quality of the food is AMAZING. If you want the best Cuban food in Atlanta, go here!
Never had a Cuban sandwich before until I ate here. Meat was moist and tender. Sometimes the best things are the simplest things! I have been here a couple of times when I visited ATL, but never left a review! Just want everyone to know it is amazing and a must try.
It was ok. I had high hopes due to others reviews and friends stories. I thought everything was a bit bland and didn’t even bother taking home the leftovers. It isn’t very close to our house but I agreed to go. We won’t go back with better options closer to home.
One of the best spots in town. Don't go by without stopping in or you're missing out.
Best Cuban I have ever had. Will definitely eat here again. Very friendly staff also if I could give more than 5 stars I would.
The best Cuban sandwich I have ever experienced. Excellent flan. Quick and friendly service. There is plenty of parking in the rear of the building.
Due to previous reviews I assume they were good at some point. Today, I ordered half Cuban sandwich with rice and beans. The beans were very watery and the rice overcooked. The part that made me decide this was the first and last time I ate there, however, was finding a piece of hard black plastic inside my sandwich. That is unacceptable on my book. Too bad. It looked promising.
Great little place. Pretty close to authentic Cuban. As good as you can get in Atlanta. Very friendly staff.
This place is amazing. I've been coming here for many years and the food is always consistent. You know you're always going to get great food when you come here. I recommend the Milanesa sandwich a side of plantains and a couple of chicken, cheese and jalapeno empanadas. The rice and beans are also really good.
Amazing cubin sandwich! Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere. Customer service is great always a smile on the workers faces
I prefer this place a lot. theres a romantic ambiance. The meals are splendid. the service is effective and the team is professional. The price is reasonable. I highly recommend.
Empanadas were delicious and the steak sandwich was filling.
This may have been the worst Cuban Sandwich i have ever tried. If you had blindly handed me the sandwich and made me guess, i wouldn't have been able to tell you it was a Cuban. Very bland. Too much meat and it was not savory. Few pickles. Perhaps they made the wrong sandwich? However, the staff is friendly. Service is quick. I loved the restaurant itself. I would be willing to chalk this up as a mulligan and try a few more items on the menu.
